The birth of Sebastian Henry – AKA: The slideshow that almost didn’t happen.
The forces of the universe were working against me on this one, and everything that could go wrong…did! Thankfully, all issues were smoothed out and I was able to upload the slideshow this weekend.
Music in the slideshow is by Renee and Jeremy, who have officially become my favourite children’s music artists. I am so thankful that they are open to having photographers use their beautiful music. I will definitely be using one of their songs for my own birth slideshow next month! I highly suggest checking out their site and downloading both of their albums.

14 day old Henry ~ Sacramento Newborn Photographer

The minute I saw Henry’s little face, I fell in LOVE. At 14 days old he looked just like a little man. I’m not sure the love was mutual, as he was not a big fan of having his picture taken. We had fun anyway and got some pretty cute shots.

Budding Talents – Bay Area Family Photographer

The last couple of Sundays I wrote about my 3 year old and his growing interest in my point and shoot camera. Over the last few weeks he has finally learned to shoot without covering the lens with his finger and even aim at a subject.
A few days ago we went out on a walk around our neighborhood. I let him bring the camera to take pictures of things that interested. I was seriously impressed by some of his photos! I just had to share.
And yes, I made a watermark for him 
I didn’t want to use my watermark, as I didn’t take the pictures. I added a bug to the mark because Bug is his nickname. The “explosion” pretty much embodies him as a 3 year old. So full of energy!
I am loving sharing my passion with him and am really excited to see if photography is something he sticks with and develops.

Sharing on Sunday ~ Bay Area Family Photographer

I don’t want this blog to go by the wayside when I am on my upcoming hiatus from sessions. I am going to try to do a little more sharing. Get a little more personal. I’ve decided to start a “Sharing on Sunday” post. You’ll learn a little bit more about me and my life. I’ll be sharing personal, non-client photographs. Lets see how many Sundays I can keep this up!
~ Baby girl is more active today than she ever has been before. I think there might be a ninja academy going on inside my body.
~ This morning I watched my Greyson eat a pancake with butter, syrup, and…ketchup! Ewe!!!
~ My husband’s band has given up their studio space. They are currently jamming in the kiddo’s room. It is loud.
~ Greyson enjoyed his first ever lollipop after a candy shoppe themed birthday party last weekend.
~ A constant craving that I have had through out my pregnancy is for cereal. What type of cereal changes each week, but Life is a constant.
~ Greyson loves to grab his guitar and play along when Daddy is playing with friends. He also likes to play with an old point and shoot camera and take pictures, like Mommy.

From providing diapers and other necessities to mentoring and encouragement to stay in school. Brighter Beginnings helps these families to better their lives. I couldn’t think of anything I would love to do more for Mother’s Day than to help out some mothers who could realllllly need it!

I just wanted to post a reminder about mini-sessions for November. I’m booking up quick so if you want a Kelly M mini-session, contact me today! Annnnd, I have card samples! Check em out at the bottom of the post!
Mini sessions include:
- An hour of shooting at a location of your choice
- 1 Hi-Rez digital image to be used on your personalized Holiday Card Design by Swish Designs!
A disc of all images from your session or individual prints can be purchased for a small fee from your online gallery.
Session fee is $150.

Hello Readers,
I made some changes to the site today. Namely, the session pricing page. Don’t worry, prices have not changed! Just the look of the page. I’ve simplified. One page, no sub-pages. It is all there in one easy to read package.
Speaking of packages, I’ve added a new package!
I am happy to announce the “Bumps and Babes” Package!
Bumps and Babes Package – $300
Our “Bumps and Babes” package is a 2 session package that starts with a Maternity Shoot at around 34 to 36 weeks and ends with a newborn shoot 2 to 3 weeks after baby is born.
After each session, proofs will be available online for viewing, sharing and print ordering. A disc of high resolution images will be available for purchase.

Question answered and booking

A question I have been asked a lot recently is, “When is the best time to do a Maternity shoot?”
I personally think between 32 and 36 weeks is best depending how much you are showing. I think that past 36 weeks is usually pushing it, as far as being comfortable. 32 weeks can be early for some women and just right for others. You are really the best judge of where your belly will be size wise and also of how big you want your bump to be at your shoot.
I’m happy to say that my schedule is looking fuller and fuller. Thank you SO much to everyone who has recommended me to friends or family. And to everyone who have left comments and been so encouraging.
The holidays are just a few short months away! If you had planned on doing a shoot with your child or family for holiday cards or presents, you might want to get that booked soon! Just drop me an email or give me a call (925.300.6912).
