I am Kelly Marie of KellyM Photography.

I am a wife and mother. I am a daughter and a sister. I am a photographer.

I received my first film camera as gift when I was 13 years old. My world was instantly changed. Even when I was not shooting, I was looking at my world in a new way. I saw beauty in lights and shadow. I mentally cropped what was in front of me as I would if I were looking through my view finder. Though I took as many semesters of photography as I could in high school, I am mostly self taught. Heck, I was even rejected from art school! I HAD to teach myself. Throughout my teen years and early 20’s I spent my nights shooting live bands. I slowly transitioned from film, chemicals and dark room, to the scary age of digital photography.

Having been a hobbyist for 15 years I have enjoyed playing and making mistakes, making art and documenting my life. With the birth of my first son my photographic interests changed nearly over night. From rough and tumble dudes in bands to my soft, playful, sometimes crying, but always magical son.

Now, I want to help you document your life. Nothing makes my day more than to receive an email from a client telling me that my photographs of their child brought tears to their eyes. There is no greater satisfaction than to know that I am capturing the magic in their lives and creating keepsakes that they will cherish for many, many years to come.
